"WAJ Magazine is a movement built on the belief that every creative deserves to be seen, every community deserves to be heard, and every culture deserves to be celebrated."

We Are Jersey Magazine was founded in 2014 with a single purpose: to give independent artists, entrepreneurs, and community builders in New Jersey — and beyond — a platform to tell their stories on their own terms.

Over a decade later, WAJ has grown into a full-service media company spanning a digital and print magazine, a thriving events presence, video production, photography, and marketing services. We don't just cover culture — we create it, amplify it, and connect the people who drive it.

Our Story

A DECADE OF CULTURE

2014

The Beginning

WAJ Magazine launches in New Jersey with a bold mission: give independent creatives, artists, and entrepreneurs a real platform. The first issues cover local talent the mainstream ignores.

2016–2018

Building the Community

The magazine grows from a local publication into a cultural institution. Events launch alongside the print issues, creating a full ecosystem where readers become participants.

2019

500+ Creatives Featured

WAJ celebrates its five-year anniversary having featured over 500 independent artists — a milestone that proves the mission resonates far beyond New Jersey.

2020–2022

Going Digital & National

WAJ expands its digital presence, launches its YouTube channel and podcast, and begins featuring creatives from across the country. The audience grows nationally and internationally.

2024–2025

WAJ Magazine Becomes Its Own Brand

WAJ Magazine separates from We Are Jersey ENT as its own digital property, expanding into a full editorial platform with a standalone website, online shop, blog, and video content — while remaining rooted in the mission that started it all.

Now

Culture Without Borders

WAJ Magazine continues to grow its reach nationally and internationally, building partnerships, launching the Jersey Curated Gear apparel line, and opening its platform to creatives everywhere who deserve to be heard.
