NJ-7 Democrat Greg Vartan Zaps Carpetbagger Candidates in Striking New Campaign Video
Summit, NJ — Greg Vartan, Democratic candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District, released today a compelling new campaign video titled, “The Candidate Factory,” a sharp and creative rebuke of a political system that, in his words, “produces what seems like an endless stream of candidates” who are out of touch with the communities they seek to represent.
In the video, Vartan uses striking imagery — including a 3D printer churning out plastic politician figurines — to illustrate how the Democratic Party elevates rootless elites who check every box except the one that matters most: genuine connection to the people.
“They look good on paper. They look good on TV,” Vartan says in the video. “But they don’t look familiar.”
Vartan’s message draws a sharp contrast with his chief Democratic primary opponents — one of whom does not live in the district, another who recently moved from Washington, D.C., and a third who previously launched a bid for Congress in a different part of New Jersey. The video positions Vartan as the only candidate with deep, lifelong ties to the district — a community member who has earned trust through service, not parachuted in for political gain.
With NJ-7 expected to be one of the most hotly contested House races in the country in 2026, Vartan’s campaign argues that authenticity and local credibility are essential to defeating Republican incumbent Rep. Tom Kean Jr.
