STATE OF THE PEOPLE TV LAUNCHES FLAGSHIP TV SHOW: “THE SIGNAL LIVE” The new show premieres on Thursday, October 2 at 9PM EST on StateofthePPL.com 

Washington, D.C. — The State of the People Coalition proudly announces the official launch of State of the People TV, a bold new digital platform dedicated to reclaiming narratives, amplifying grassroots power, and equipping communities with tools for liberation. The platform debuts October 2, 2025, with the premiere of its flagship program, The Signal LIVE, streaming at 9/8c on www.stateoftheppl.com.

The powerful team behind the State of the People movement that created an inaugural 13-city State of the People Power Tour and ground-breaking SOTP TV counter-programming around the President’s address to Congress in March and the Budget negotiations in July has now created a weekly program that can be found on Thursdays at 8pm EST on www.stateoftheppl.com

State of the People TV stands as a direct counter to corporate-controlled media, unapologetically centering Black voices, grassroots organizing, and cultural brilliance. With programming built by the people, for the people, the network is designed to transform awareness into action—providing clarity, strategy, and pathways to impact.

“This isn’t just media—it’s a movement,” said Angela Rye, Executive Producer. “State of the People TV is where truth, strategy, and power collide. We are reclaiming our narratives and creating a space for collective liberation.” 

Additional founding voices—including Holli Holliday, Brittany Packnett Cunningham, Dr. David Johns and Karen Finney—join in underscoring the urgency and vision behind the launch, affirming that this platform is more than a channel: it is a call to action.

The launch of The Signal LIVE sets the tone for the network’s unapologetic approach. Each weekly episode cuts through the noise to spotlight grassroots victories, break down complex policy, and connect national headlines to community realities. 

The premier show will be Co-Anchored by Dr. David Johns, CEO and Executive Director of the National Black Justice Coalition, also Editor-in-Chief of the SOTP Black Papers, and nationally respected political strategist, opinion journalist and commentator Karen Finney. Both were part of the national team behind the State of the People Power Tour.
