Queen Latifah is an inspiration to women all over the world, and her words on Thursday at the Glasshouse NYC alongside Kim Cattrall, Drew Barrymore, Venus Williams, Camila Cabello and Amanda Seyfried at Variety’s Power of Women ceremony, presented by Lifetime were no exception. She spoke about the power of women uniting, and how when we come together there is nothing more potent. Her words were a rallying cry for women to stand up and fight for what they believe in. We need more powerful voices like Queen Latifah's speaking out on behalf of women everywhere.
Queen Latifah is from New Jersey, and she is known as a successful rapper, singer, songwriter, actress, record producer, and talk show host. She has been nominated for five Grammy Awards and has won a Golden Globe Award and an NAACP Image Award. On her way to the event, the multi-hyphenate entertainer whom grew up just across the Hudson River in Newark, N.J. visited her hometown last week to break ground on a multi-million dollar housing development project.
